Hello Chinatown


Chinatown Boardroom is pleased to present Hello Chinatown a solo exhibition featuring Koji Toyoda. Opening reception will be held on First Friday, July 1st 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., 2011, show runs for the month of July. Hello Chinatown will feature new works by Toyoda including surfboards, this collection of “happy” surf art, his art will make you feel good and bring a smile to your face. (A portion of the proceeds from the show will be donated to the victims of the March 2011 Japan Tsunami.)

Toyoda was born in Osaka Japan in 1962; he began surfing in his early teenage years. Toyoda held his first art exhibition at the Huntington Beach International Surfing Museum in 1997. In the surf art community Toyoda has become internationally renown. Over the years he developed a deep appreciation and fascination with surf lifestyle and surf culture. Toyoda’s artistic style expresses his surf-inspired feelings and messages about the environment, life and the ocean.

encoded scapes


Chinatown Boardroom is pleased to present encoded scapes a solo exhibition featuring Ted Lincoln, opening on First Friday, November 5th, 2010. Lincoln creates abstract contemporary Asian influenced paintings by utilizing a variety of mediums. His work is a combination of Sumi ink, acrylic, automotive clear and rice paper on aluminum panel. Lincoln obtained his BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2000. He currently lives and works in Florida. Join us for the Meet the Artist reception on November 10th from 6 - 8 p.m.
